​​Our Story

If you are reading this letter then it can be assumed you are either an international student, a former international student, or someone who is interested in helping those in the international student community. Whatever the reason behind how you stumbled upon our organization, I want to personally thank you for your interest in supporting/participating in the activities of Fortify Global.

Fortify Global (FG) was founded in October 2023 with the mission of supporting International Students. As a team, we strive to be the catalyst that empowers international students to thrive in both their academic and personal endeavors while living in the United States, bridging the gap between international students and the resources they need to be successful. Whether that be creating opportunities for building relationships and community among international students, giving them the training and mentorship needed to navigate life in the States, or even providing financial resources when needed, Fortify Global’s mission is to equip international students to be successful. 

While not an international student myself, the relationships I have had the privilege of building with the different members of FG’s Board of Directors have all aided in opening my eyes to the many plights that international students often encounter and have to overcome during their time studying in the United States. Witnessing these challenges served as a catalyst for a vision to create an organization that would make a meaningful difference in the lives of those undertaking academic journeys far from home. 

Through the friendships formed with international students and experiences walking alongside those who struggle navigating the complicated process, the Lord slowly, yet consistently, began to create in me a heart that desired to help. At the start of 2023, the Lord took that desire to help and quickly transformed it into a conviction to act. In quick succession, it was revealed that the things He was speaking to me, He was also speaking to others. Thus Fortify Global was born. It was created by a group of people who the Lord has instilled in each, a heart to support, encourage, and help international students reach their full potential during their time in the States. Whether it be born out of personal testimony or simply relationship with those who have navigated the process, every person involved in the creation of FG has a true desire to help international students be successful. As President of the organization, that is something I am immensely grateful for. I am honored to have such an incredible team serving this organization’s purpose and making a meaningful impact in the lives of international students they come into contact with. 

My ask of you is that you would consider partnering with us in this mission. Through your monthly financial support, we are able to help International Students clear the inevitable hurdles they face while navigating life in the States. Whether that be putting together a soccer tournament to help build community, buying my Ugandan brother a coat so he doesn’t freeze, or simply helping them file their taxes, FG wants to be there to walk alongside students in their journey from start to finish. Your generous contribution is what allows us to do that.
